Introduction

“Process impact” is a concept I created to define a series of steps taken towards creating art with an active message, commonly called activist art. It starts with research for information regarding a specific issue the artist wishes to address. Gathered information can then be interpreted and translated into a visual language. The inherent attraction of stimulating visual senses has the capability to open an avenue for intellectual exchange. The experience of viewing and discussing art that exposes related issues and opportunities for change has the power to impact a broad audience.

Process Impact: a national exhibition of activist art, is an opportunity to create the environment in which activist art can be viewed and discussed.
